2. Diamonds

My lifelong enemies become the messengers
teaching me how to live and love the world
with the strangeness of it’s curve
I read the meaning, then lost my nerve
I shoved dirt in every crack in every word

I have photographs of me playing games
caught in moments of joy without shame
i learned to doubt that feeling
taught myself that i was hearing
only voices that want me disappeared

then I heard you shout
we’re alive to let the light out
the wall opened a crack
now I can't help but let the light out

For every line that’s on your face i wonder why
did they come from when you smiled or when you cried
Did you forget that you’re a diamond?
It’s the cuts that make you shining
When you start to break I’ll be here listening

I know you’re gonna sing
we’re alive to let the light out
the wall opens a crack
and you can’t help but let the light out

SOLO
I know i heard you shout
we’re alive to let the light out
the wall opens a crack,
you can’t help but let the light out

I know you’re gonna sing
we’re alive to let the light out
the wall opens a crack,
we can’t help but let the light out
